Signing up and Using GotoCamera
GotoCamera is EASY to set up and easy to use. How easy? One of our subscribers, Mark Shiels (thanks, Mark!), wrote in to say: “It’s so easy, my grandma could set it up”. And it’s CHEAP. How cheap? How does “Free” sound? You could sign up for a free service plan and never pay a cent. Even our top service plan costs less than a latte a month! Oh, and at the risk of sounding monotonous, it’s QUICK – from registration to use in 5 minutes or less. Sounds good? Let’s get started. All you need is a webcam (a USB webcam such as those made by Logitech, Creative, etc, or even the webcam integrated into your netbook / notebook) and a Windows PC (XP and above), and you’re ready to start. You do NOT need to modify your firewall settings or do anything complicated on your router. Once your camera is set up, you can turn on recording schedules, configure motion detection, share your camera with friends and family, and access it from any browser, including most mobile phone browsers.
Ensure your webcam is plugged into your computer and the drivers are installed. Then, here’s what you do:

Sign up for the service we won’t ask you for a credit card. |

Download and Install the GotoCamera Client |

Launch the GotoCamera Client, enter your GotoCamera email address and password, choose a name for your camera and the picture quality you’d like to run it at (we recommend 640x480) and hit OK. That’s it |

Login to and you’ll see your camera listed under My Cameras. Click the image icon to access a live image,the multi-image icon to access a series of automatically refreshing live images, the video clip icon for a 10 second video clip recorded on-demand, and the stream icon for a live stream. |

Once you’re logged in, you can setup a recording schedule, share your camera, view / delete your archives, join the conversation on our message boards, and more. |
